Dry Creek Bed in Northfield, MN

Dry creek bed with a French drain installed this late fall. This is designed to aesthetically move water away from the House foundation. This works well in an area with little other options. Our client has a side yard with negative grade and a neighbors house very close by not allowing for normal grade situation. So we are capturing all the water in a french drain (perferated drain tile with underlayment and a gravel filled trench sloping away) that was flooding their basement and moving it thru this dry creek.

Stone Edging Using Fon du Lac and Ozark Cherry Stone Blend

At Landscape Dreams we enjoy using unique landscape materials. This combination of Fon du Lac stone which is commonly used, and Ozark Cherry stone,  rarely used in a 4" snapped edger, works well together. Now we just need to get the plants in... maybe next spring.

Bluestone lilac color front walk.

I am lucky to get such great customers.
Thanks Lisa! Hope your husband was surprised when he got home from fishing to find his new front yard.
We love natural stone work! It was fun working with you on this. See ya soon.

Dry Creek Bed Front Foundation Planting

This foundation planting bed needed a little make over. So we removed some tired plants and moved a few and then added some new ones. We also added this natural looking dry creek bed. We used a mix of fieldstone boulders , river rock , and fabric after reshaping the ground to catch the hillside runoff and direct it to a catch basin and drain tile system to get the water under the sidewalk and away from the foundation.
Function followed by beauty!
